My name is Pepper Weinglass,
I am a self-taught Resin artist. Currently based out of Aspen, Colorado, and spent many years on Kauai. I have lived in the rocky mountains for almost 40 years. Spending time in nature, hiking, biking, and snowboarding allow me to tune into myself and see the beauty around me every day; it gives me great inspiration.
I work in Resin, using Acrylic paint, alcohol inks, or mica pigments, building up the pieces one layer at a time, allowing the Resin to cure for 24 hrs in-between, then adding another layer until I get the depth I desire. Resin is a tedious and challenging process, but I love the outcome; it captures a fantastic depth and 3d effect.
It started with Mandalas, symmetry always make me feel centered. Mandalas symbolize the idea that life is never ending and everything is connected. We look at the mandala to center the mind and body and find a sense of calm. From Mandalas I move into abstracts that reminded my of my days in Hawaii, the colors of the water, the sunsets and the simplicity of life. I love to travel, and you can see that in my pieces, Morocco was also a place that Mandalas came into my life. The Structure the patterns, the architecture.
